Who We Are

An energy trader built for Zambian industry.

Kapstone is an energy trading and power project development company. We source power from a diversified portfolio of local and regional generators - and, in the near future, our own generation assets - so Zambian businesses can focus on running, not chasing electricity.

Our Story

Built to shield Zambian business from power uncertainty.

Zambia's commercial and industrial base has long operated against a backdrop of load management, rising national tariffs, and the complexity of sourcing electricity across multiple channels. For mines, manufacturers, agro-processors and large facilities, power is not just an input cost - it's an operational risk.

Kapstone was established to change that. Instead of acting as a single fixed-cost generator or reseller, we operate as an energy trader - sourcing across the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) and a diversified portfolio of local generators, and structuring every contract around how each customer actually operates.

The result is a Power Supply Agreement (PSA) tailored to your facility: your load profile, your shift patterns, your seasonal peaks - with no infrastructure investment required on your side.

What Drives Us

Mission, vision & the principles we trade by.

◎

Our Mission

To supply Zambian commercial, industrial, agricultural and mining customers with reliable, cost-competitive electricity under transparent, tailored contracts - removing power as a barrier to growth.

✦

Our Vision

A Zambian industrial base that competes regionally without being held back by the cost or reliability of its power - powered by a diversified, regionally-integrated energy market.

◇

Our Principles

Price transparency. Contractual clarity. Operational flexibility. And a sourcing strategy that treats every megawatt as a commercial decision - not a fixed utility line item.

Our Difference

A trader's approach, applied to Zambian power.

Three structural advantages a single-source utility cannot match.

1

Diversified Sourcing

We buy across the Southern African Power Pool and multiple local generators. When regional market conditions shift favourably, that flexibility can be passed straight through to your tariff.

2

Tailored Contracts

Every customer is supplied under a bespoke PSA - structured around your load profile, shift patterns, seasonal peaks and operational flexibility, not a national one-size-fits-all schedule.

3

No Infrastructure Risk

Supply is delivered through your existing grid connection. No capex, no on-site generation build, no long-term asset commitment on your side - just a commercial power contract.

How We Work

From first conversation to signed PSA.

We keep the process lean. Share a recent power bill and your production schedule, and we'll come back with a supply case - at no cost and no obligation.

See the full process
  1. 1. Share your profile

A recent power bill and your production schedule - anything that shows us how your operation actually consumes electricity.

  2. 2. We structure your supply case

We model your load against regional and local sourcing options, and propose a tariff - including any time-of-use structure.

  3. 3. Negotiate your PSA

Contractual terms reflect your demand curve: peak periods, off-peak windows, tenure, and any flexibility clauses.

  4. 4. Power flows through your grid

No on-site build. No new infrastructure. Electricity is delivered via your existing grid connection, and we manage the sourcing side.
